Eric Dane Share an emotional update on his recent als diagnosis when appearing Good morning America.
Dane, 52, sat down with Diane Sawyer For an interview broadcast on Monday, June 16, sharing an insight into how he first noticed things appeared away.
“I started experiencing some weakness in my right hand. And I really didn’t think anything of it at the time, I thought maybe I had been texting too much and my hand was fat,” he remembered. “A few weeks later, I noticed that he had worsened a little. I went to see a manual expert, who sent me to another hand expert. I went to see a neurologist, and the neurologist sent me to another neurologist and said, ‘This is well above my pay degree.’
After nine months, he finally received his diagnosis. “I will never forget those three letters, (Als). I need the second I wake up,” he said. “It’s not a dream.”
Now, Dane’s illness has moved on to a point where it loses the role of its members. “I have one active arm. “(My left arm) goes. I feel like a couple maybe, a few more months more and I won’t have my left.… I’m worried about my legs.”

Speaking of his family on Monday, Dane revealed that Gayheart is the first person he calls by feeling depressed. “I talk to her every day,” he said, ripping up. “We’ve managed to become better friends and better parents and she’s my biggest champion. My biggest fan of nails. And I’m weighing on it.”
As his health struggle continues, Dane focus on his family. “I fight as much as I can. There is so much about it that is beyond my control,” he concluded. “I’m angry because, you know, my dad was taken from me when I was young and now there’s a very good chance that I will be taken by my daughters while they’re very young. At the end of the day, all I want to do is spend time with my family and work a little if I can.… They are loved. They know it.”
