Attacks for two hours apart in Graza and a nigent left two countries shocked

Two shocking attacks, two hours from each other, in France and Austria, left their parents and governments who make sure and in loss how to protect schoolchildren from accidental, death violence.

On Tuesday, around 08:15, a 14-year-old boy from a regular family in Nogent, Eastern France pulled a kitchen knife while checking the school bag and mortally stabbed a school assistant.

Shortly thereafter, a 21-year-old guy who graduated from the school three years earlier in the South Austrian southeast of Austria entered the High School of Dreeshwescence in Graza at 09:43, and shot dead nine students and teachers with a Glock 19 pistol.

In both countries, there is a demand for decisions and for greater attention to young people who turn to such violence.

Austria has never seen an attack at a school on this scale, but a knife with a French knife occurred during a state program aimed at combating the growth of a knife.

Austrians ask about the laws on weapons and a failed system

The rook shooter, named Austrian media Arthur A, was described by police as a very introverter who retreated to the virtual world.

According to Michael Longer, the head of the criminal investigation in Styria, it had social contacts with other gamers online.

Former student of the Drairshut -Czamensa school, Arthur and was unable to complete his studies.

When he came to school, he put on the headset and shooting before going to the deadly seven -minute shot. Then he killed himself in the school bathroom.

He owned two weapons legally, passed a psychological test to possess a license and conducted several training sessions at the Graz shooting club earlier this year.

This has caused a great discussion in Austria on whether the laws on weapons should be delayed – and the level of assistance accessible to the problematic young people.

It turned out that the shooter was dismissed from the country’s mandatory military service in July 2021.

Defense Ministry’s press -secretary Michael Bauer told the BBC that Arthur A was recognized as “psychologically unsuitable” for service after he passed the tests. But he said that Austria’s legal system prevented the army from passing the results of such tests.

Now there are calls for changing this law.

Alex, a mother of a 17-year-old boy who survived the shooting, told the BBC that it was more necessary to do to prevent people like Arthur A, first and foremost, give up school.

“We know … that when people shoot at each other so, it is mostly when they feel alone and fall out. And we do not know how to return them to society, to groups,” she said.

“We, like adults, are responsible for it, and we have to accept it now.”

President Alexander Van der Bellen raised the possibility of tightening the Austrian weapons law after the visit to Graz after the attack: “If we come to the conclusion that the Austrian weapons laws need to be changed to ensure great security, then we will do it.”

Austria has one of the most armed civilian groups in Europe, about 30 firearms per 100 people.

Although there were school pictures earlier, they were much smaller and much fewer victims participated.

The Mayor of Graz Elke Kar believes that no private person should have a weapon. “Weapons licenses are issued too fast,” she said on Austrian TV Orf. “Only the police should wear weapons, not individuals.”

French focus on mental health as well as on security

Security was tight at school in Nogent, and the attack occurred while searching the bag

Armed Gendarmes were present at the entrance to Françoise Dolto high school in Nogent, 100 km (62 miles) to the east of Paris, when the teenager pulled out a 20-cm kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed melania, which was 31 years old and had a four-year-old son.

A boy accused of murder told the police that he had said another school assistant for his girl’s kiss.

As a result, he was generally offended by school assistants, and apparently decided to kill one. The schools were closed on Monday for a banking holiday, and on Tuesday its first day ago.

The initial assessment of the state prosecutor was that the boy, called Quentin, came from a regular functional family and had no crime and mental health.

However, the child also turned out to be rejected and without emotions. Skillful in hard video games, he demonstrated “admiration for death” and “lack of reference points related to the value of human life.”

The Nogent attack does not match the template of antisocial youth crime or gang violence so far.

Also, there are no Indo -assauctions over social media.

According to the prosecutor, the boy did it little. He twice was violent against his colleagues and was rejected on the day every time.

There is no family breakdown and deprivation, and school officials described it as “a friendly, rather good student, well integrated into the life of the institution.”

This year he was even named “Ambassador” on bullying.

For all the calls for greater security in schools, this crime occurred literally the noses of armed gendarmes. As the Interior Minister Bruno Retale put it, some crimes will take place regardless of how many police you deploy.

For more information about the boy’s state of mind, we must wait for a complete psychologist’s report, and it may well be that signs have been missed, or there are family details that we do not yet know.

In this regard, he is perhaps more lonely middle class, and his obvious normality involves the crime caused by internship mental processes rather than the association caused by peers or imitation.

Murder melani r in a nigent stunted all France

That’s what the chord is amazing in France. If a regular boy can be like this by watching too much violent videos then who is next?

It is important to note that the French government has just approved by showing the youth series British Netflix as assistance in schools.

Of course, there are differences.

A boy arrested for killing a teenage girl in the series leads to evil “toxic men” affecting social media – but there is the same question when teenagers are vulnerable, highlighting the Internet.

There are calls for actions throughout the political spectrum, but there is little consent to what should be a priority and not hope that everything can be of great importance.

Prior to the murder, President Emmanuel Macron angered the right, saying that they were too obsessed with crime and are not interested in other issues such as the environment.

Nogent’s attack put it on the back leg, and he repeated his promise to ban social media up to 15 years of age.

But there are two difficulties. One of them is the practicality of the measure with which the EU is theoretically considered, but it lends itself to endless deferral.

The second is that, according to the prosecutor, the boy was not particularly interested in social media. These were violent video games that were his business.

Prime Minister François Bayra said knives will be banned. But the boy took him from the house.

Bayer says metal detectors at the airport should be tested in schools, but most goals oppose.

The right populist wants tougher offers for teens who carry knives and exclude destructive students from regular classes.

But the boy in Nogent was not a problem.

The only measure that says it is necessary that more school doctors, nurses and psychologists are needed to identify early signs of students who come out of the rails.

This, of course, will require a lot of money, and this is another thing that doesn’t have much.
