S. Badrinath questions Shubman Gill’s selection in Indian team; he issues angry comments about his batting woes

“You don’t have to go out there and say, oh, this is the way I play. I’m going to stand up and deliver. Everything you can do, at that moment, you try to do. In this series, I didn’t get it from Shubman. Even on the field, he couldn’t stick around and aim. What does he bring to the team?” asked Badrinath.

The 25-year-old is expected to feature in the Indian squad Champions Trophy 2025 but his consecutive failure to score big runs has made his selection difficult.

A series to forget for Gill

Gill had a terrible Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The young top order batsman scored 93 runs in 5 innings throughout the series with the highest score of 31 runs in Adelaide.
