The UK soldier, who is accused of raping a woman near the British Army’s contradictory base in Kenya, allegedly attacked a British citizen, not Kenyan, confirmed the Ministry of Defense (MOD).
The military statement said the man was arrested and sent back to the UK after the alleged incident last month near the British Army training unit in Kenya (Batuk).
The accusation is investigated by the UK military, which has jurisdiction on this issue and is not related to the Kenyan police.
Estimated rape is the last statement of violation of the rules against British soldiers in Batuk, near Nanuki, about 200 km (125 miles) north of the capital of Kenya, Nairobi.
The MOD press secretary said: “We can confirm the arrest of a British official in Kenya regarding a sex crime report. The official was repatched in the UK, and the victim is a British adult, not Kenyan.
“The case is the subject of a constant investigation of teams on serious crime in the UK in accordance with the Agreement on Cooperation Defense between the UK and Kenya, and we will not comment further.”
Earlier, the UK soldiers were accused of killing a local woman Agnes Wandzhir, whose body was found in the septic tank in 2012.
The UK said she cooperated with the Kenyan investigation into her death.
Batuka’s base was established in 1964 shortly after the Eastern African nation gained independence from the UK.
In the UK, the military has an agreement with Kenya, according to which it can deploy up to six army battalions a year for periods of study at this place.
But the British army faced a number of allegations of the behavior of some UK staff at the camp.
Last year, in a public investigation, created by a deputy of Kenya, the details of allegedly brutal treatment of the locals by British soldiers.
These allegations have included a registered incident and claim that some British soldiers became pregnant by local women before giving up on them and their children when they returned to the UK.
