Manchester City has wrapped the signing of Rayan Cherki in Lyon, carrying the much larger attacking midfielder before the opening deadline for summer transfers.
The Premier League champions will pay an initial amount of £ 30.45 million for the 21 -year -old, who has reduced a five -year contract until 2030.
It will be eligible to present it in the city at the Club World Cup, which starts in the United States on June 14.
Cherki leaves Lyon after gathering about 200 senior appearances, scoring 29 goals and 45 assists. It also has two caps for the French team, marking once.
“This is a dream for me,” Cherki said at the end of the move. “Honestly, joining a club like Manchester City and having the opportunity to take the next step of my career here is a very special thing.”
Its arrival marks the third addition of the city in two days. On Monday, the club confirmed the signing of Rayan Aït-Nouri’s 31 million pounds from Wolves’ left, while on Tuesday, veteran goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli joined Chelsea.

Cherki entered the Senior side of Lyon at the age of only 16 in October 2019 and has since become one of the leading creative talents in League 1.
“I have worked hard for life,” he added. “I love this sport and I can’t wait to develop -rather in Manchester with Pep and his room staff.
“The responsibility to help the team continue to win is something I want to embrace. I would only leave Lyon for a project in which I really believe, and everything in City suggests that I can develop my game and help the team successful in the future.”
Cherki recently debuted in France during his League of Nations with Spanya.
Leaving the bench, he took a goal and attendance at a 5-4 defeat after 5-1. Then he started in third place, where France beat Germany 2-0.
