Pochettino quasha “unrealistic” rumors of the return of Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino has rejected speculations that link him to the return to Tottenham, insisting that a comeback in northern London is “non -realistic” at this time.

The 53 -year -old, currently in charge of the United States Selection, has been related to the Spurs vacancy after Age Postecoglou’s surprise removal on Friday.

Despite delivering the first trophy of the club in 17 years with a triumph of Europa League, Postecoglou was relieved of his duties.

Pochettino, who spent five years in Tottenham before being sacked in November 2019, has been among the names presented for the job.

However, speaking after the United States defeat 2-1 against Turkey in Connecticut, it made it clear that he does not now plan to return to Spurs.

“Today is not realistic,” Pochettino said. “Look where I am. Look where we are (their room staff). The answer is so clear.

“I think since I left in 2019, my name has always been on the list (of rumors).

“I have seen rumors, we are 100 coaches on the list. Don’t worry.

“If something happens (in the future), you will surely see it, but I’m so happy right now and we can’t talk about this kind of thing.”

The Argentine took over the United States Men’s Selection in October 2024 and has so far overseen nine games, registering five wins and four losses. The loss of Turkey was the third consecutive loss of the team.

Pochettino is focused on the preparation of the US staff for the 2026 World Cup, which will co-friend with Mexico and Canada.

During his previous career in Tottenham, Pochettino led the club to a champion league final in 2019 and won a runner-up in the Premier League in 2016-17.
