The legendary Indian Cricter Sunil Gavaskar has made a bold statement on the mortal stampede in Bengaluru. A degreing tragedy was deployed outside the Bengaluru Stadium M Chinnaswamy, as about three Lakh people gathered to celebrate the victory of the first IPL of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s historic 2025 IPL quickly turned into a black day in the history of the League, with 11 people who lost their lives and more than 60 people injured in the mortal stampede caused by mismanagement and overcrowding during celebrations in Bengaluru.
Because the fans of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had waited almost two decades during this time, went out. Unfortunately, overwhelming participation caused chaos outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, and the lack of proper crowd control triggered deadly stampede.

Now, Sunil Gavaskar expressed his sadness about the loss of lives, saying that the long wait of RCB in the IPL title had intensified the emotions and made the celebrations more loaded than ever. Gavaskar said that if RCB has won the title above, this tragedy would not have happened.
Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his column by the middle of the day: “If the RCB had won the trophy in the early years, there would have been no emotion as it happened after the long wait of 18 years. Other teams have won, but their celebrations have been much less frantic, maybe because their fans did not have to wait so long.”
The former Indian Captain also said that the famous RCB slogan “EE Saala Cup Naamde” had become a load for the team over the years, and this year they avoided and became champions.
Gavaskar added: “The slogan” EE Saala Cup Naamde “seemed to be like a mill stone around the team’s necks. This year, when this slogan almost did not hear, the team played an excellent cricket, most far from its fans.”
Gavaskar praised the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for his perfect record at IPL 2025, calling it a special success. The commentator said it was not uncommon for fans to meet in a large number to celebrate the team’s success.

He also offered sincere condolences to those who lost their loved ones to the tragic stampede. The legendary mayor also said that the prayers and support of their fans played a key role in the long -awaited victory of the RCB title.
However, Gavaskar called the stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium a wealthy tragedy. He said that fans just wanted to see their heroes, who finally brought the IPL trophy at home after 18 years.
The legendary Cricter said that the enthusiasm of the RCB fans was natural, as many just expected to see, encourage or take a photo with the players who brought them so joy.
Gavaskar signed by saying: “What a tragedy! The loss of lives due to a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy stadium is really. Everything that these people wanted was a vision of the players who had given them so much joy and happiness over the years, especially in the last two months. The IPL trophy, who hoped that each year would be every year, but he never did, after 18 years.”
