Punjab Kings (PBKs) Batter Shashank Singh opened the final loss of IPL 2025 in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Shashank expressed his lament not to end the persecution, as the Bengaluru team won a six victory at the summit summit at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shashank Singh scored 61 unbeaten of only 30 balls, including 3 four and 6 six, in the final clash of the IPL 2025. However, it was not enough to win. Punjab Kings needed 42 runs from the last two previous ones, and Shashank struggled strongly, but the team fell on the game’s goal.
Speaking to Indian Express, Shashank Singh revealed the strategy he took into account. Shashank wanted to mark around 16 to 17 runs from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, he only managed 13 running in Bhuvneshwar, leaving Punjab needed 30 out of the last.

“I had done my calculation of the last two points, Bhuvi likes that Yorkers planned to get at least 16-17.
Shashank revealed that he was surprised to deal with a complete launch of Josh Hazlewood in the final. Shashank said he had mentally prepared for a yorker delivery and was trapped by a complete thigh launch. The batter said that if he had connected with the first ball, he could have passed by six.
“Mentally, my mind was ready to get a first Hazelwood Yorker Ball. So I had positioned myself, but I never predicted a complete release, also in my thigh,” said Shashank.
“Now I feel that if he had connected it, even if he had it in the bat handle, he would have obtained the maximum, because his fine leg was nearby. He was hoping to do so, but he never came. When I saw that the score indicated that the last ball needed 12 runs, he knew that everything was over.”
Shashank Singh said he was excited as he returned to the locker room after the narrow defeat of Punjab Kings. While Virat Kohli surpassed the tears of joy due to the victory of the RCB maid title, Shashank was overwhelmed by Heartbreak. He admitted that he broke even before the final ball was launched.
“I’m a strong person, but I couldn’t control -when I struck -in the fifth ball and I saw that 12 runs of the last ball were needed. I realized that it is over. When I arrived in the locker room, everyone came and said, why I cry? I told them, Mujhe Aapne Aasoon aa Raha Hai,” says Narra.
