Back Lucas GrabeelIt took a little time before he could say he did him as an actor.
“I knew how lucky I was to have that string of very early success, but after Halloween (high), I had to go back to work at Blockbuster, ”said Grabeel, 40, on Wednesday, June 4, episode from a “Ned’s declared” podcast. “It was (it was) a terrible job I loved. That was an incredible dose of humility.”
Grabeel was brought up in Missouri, moving to Los Angeles when he turned at the age of 18 to pursue an acting career. Disney Channel’s High Halloweenwhich came out in 2004, marking his first appearance on screen.
“This child is (sweeping), like, you look like the guy of Halloween.‘”Grabeel remembered.” I’m like, ‘yes, that’s me. Let this be a lesson, a child. Not every actor’s millionaire and I’m struggling. ‘”
Have Halloween, Grabeel spent a two -year span of audition and ordered casual guest spots on TV shows.
“It was very rough,” he remembered. “People told me, ‘Look, you’ve done a lot of theater (AM) you have some experience. You’re probably going to go out and have some pretty easy early success. The real trick is to last through the Valleys.
According to Grabeel, the so -called valleys were particularly difficult.

Grabeel’s luck changed when he landed an audition for Disney Channel’s High school musical in 2006. While initially read for the leading man Troy Bolton (the role made famous by Zac Efron), Grabeel was asked to try on Ryan’s behalf.
“I got a call and it was like, ‘Hey, man, prepare. You go to Salt Lake (City),’” Grabeel remembered that he had ordered the role in the film shot in Utah. “I was, like, ‘thank God, I don’t have to sell my car and, you know, walk everywhere.’ Then I went in and gave up sweeping. ”
