Is Teofimo López blacklisted for the top rank?

Teofimo López took to social media today to complain about Top Rank, saying yes “too expensive” for them and blame the president, Todd Debouf.

Lopez claims Duboef doesn’t “like” him or his father since 2018, which is why he hasn’t gotten the big matches he wants. Fans see this as more of a case of Teofimo (21-1, 13 KOs) not performing.

He lost to George Kambosos Jr. and has fought in many fights since moving to 140 in 2022. Every time he sounds crazy with his rants on social media, talking about this and that.

Teofimo says he wants his “purchase number” This is something he already asked for in a recent post on X.

Past Performance

WBO light welterweight champion Lopez, 27, wants to fight Devin Haney, Terence Crawford, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. However, these decks have been out of reach until now. He’s not popular enough to get them, and his many lackluster performances over the past four years have contributed to that.

Lopez looked like 24K gold for the first four years of his career from 2016 to 2020, but has failed to perform at the same level since 2021. It’s clear to fans that Teofimo was fool’s gold from the start , and it was never as good as the public thought.

His narrow victory over an injured, one-armed, older and much smaller Vasily Lomachenko was the defining moment in Teo’s career. It’s all been downhill since with his fights against these guys:

– Steve Claggett
—Jamaine Ortiz
– Josh Taylor
– Sandor Martin
– Pedro Campa
– George Cambosos Jr.

Top Rank has remained Teofimo’s head above the waterline because of how they have matched it in the last four years. If they had pitted him against some of the killers he has complained about, he would have lost many times over and been useless to them. He pretty much is, anyway. Teofimo’s comments outside the ring make him hard to like, and some fans question his sanity.

A story of dislike?
