Frank Walker speaks the legacy and festival of Breakaway Avicii

Dj Frank Walker Leading the accusation to revitalize the progressive house music that dominated the 2010s.

“When I began to come into contact with electronic dance music, (Avic) is such a large part of crossing over genres I loved before – folk, alternative – and melted with electronic music in a very interesting way that no one had ever done before, ”said Walker Weekly US only in front of his set in Ohio Breakaway Music Festivalas part of the Celsius vital vibes tripOn Sunday, June 1. “That highlighted me to see how writing songs can fit into the electronic music experience.”

Noting Avicii-the DJ nominated by a late Grammy that his head-diart revolutionized the genre before his death in 2018-as one of his greatest musical influences, Walker added: “He incorporated a country and all these other different styles, and I think that comes back 10 years later. (We see) this resurrection of this country.”

Walker brought exactly the kind of energy you would expect at an Avicii show around 2014 to their separation set as well as a special Bootcamp Barry practice he was in before the festival started.

“Breakaway is very interesting because (you go to) these very cool, smaller cities but the energy is just as high because people love the energy that dance brings,” said Walker Us. “Coming out to that is a lot of fun. So it’s kind of unique in that way.”

What is your order before the show?

In my day -to -day life, I’m pretty relaxed and cool, but I definitely want to raise that energy when I go on stage. Celsius is a great energy drink for that. The flavors are great. It’s good to have an energy drink to get you to perform.

For a typical show, you need a good meal in advance. Not too close – you don’t want to be spending – but make sure you have a little energy in the system. As much as Celsius is an energy drink, you also need some real food there. Get the calories in.

If it’s a festival, I like to see other actions to get myself in the mood to jump up on stage. If it’s a nightclub, I’m relaxing in the green room and having a small Zen moment before I go to a nightclub, which can be quite intense.

What’s on your cyclist?

Nothing too crazy. Veggie Trays – You want a healthy meal! We usually have a disposable camera and a pack of gum. Sometimes lint roller. Stayed looking clean.

What has been your craziest concert experience in all your years of travel?

There are different types of crazy. You have played a major stage like Breakaway, Ultra or EDC. It’s crazy from that point of view: you have this crazy production and the energy is so high and you can see your images very much. But you also have mad at the side of a small nightclub close to you. Both of them are high energy situations.

(I’ve done) a lot of crazy travel, like three shows in 24 hours. It can be a bit intense, but that’s what makes the career fun. It cannot be all rainbow and sunshine every day. Sometimes it has to be a little chaotic to do where you want to go.

How do you decompress after a show?

It depends on where I am. If it’s a daytime show, I’ll hang around for a while, get a little sun, relax and get a couple of drinks. If it’s a night show, it can be amplified at 2:30 in the morning. So I’ll usually go back home, throw a movie on, try to crash and pack my suitcase before the early flights. I need to wake up early and be prepared to go – everything is set out.

What are your three songs that have to be found in a post-party?

I have to play my own song “I’m going to dance.” Must be in the set somewhere. There are some who are heavier back songs, but no matter where you are, “Gimme! Gimmie! Gimmie!” always by abba (hits). I don’t think anyone hates that song. I usually try to throw in Avicii’s song there. “Levels” is a classic. Never miss.

How do you predict the music will look at your wedding?

My fiancée, Chanel, is responsible for location and aesthetic and what it will look like. I’m in charge of entertainment, so we’re going to see where that goes. I obviously love a good DJ set and a good backbardy, but that’s what my life is immersed in so I’m trying to see who we can get out as a singer – some acoustic moments or a really good band to break that up. But not until some point in 2026. We need to find the location before I cross that bridge.

I was talking to Andrew (Fedyk) Of high luxury that was like, “I don’t know how to order a DJ for my (marriage).” So they set up Instagram Posting say they want to fly someone out to open for them, and I think it’s really cool – giving back to the DJ community and finding a DJ who might not be well known but who has a very good sound. He once posted he posted that he had almost more people texting him to the DJ set than he congratulated him when he engaged.
