Bengaluru police arrested three individuals on Friday after the tragic stampede at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, which claimed 11 lives during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Victory celebrations (RCB). RCB Marketing Chief, Nikhil Sosale, was among the arrested ones in relation to Stampede.
RCB on Tuesday lifted his IPL Trophy after defeating Punjab Kings (PBKs) in the 2025 final in Ahmedabad. However, the celebrations took a tragic turn, as huge crowds gathered to witness the team’s victory. While the stadium has a capacity of about 35,000, from two to three Lakh appeared.
RCB Marketing Chief, Nikhil Sosale, arrested at Bengaluru Stampede Investigation
According to a report from Cricbuzz, Bengaluru police arrested three individuals in relation to the stadium that occurred during the RCB IPL victory celebrations outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium. Nikhil Sosale was detained at Bengaluru Airport while heading to Mumbai.

The arrests took place after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered legal actions against those responsible, including RCB officials, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and DNA entertainment networks, the involved event management firm.
Sunil Mathew, Vice President – Business Affairs, and Kiran Kumar, Manager of Senior DNA events Entertainment, were also arrested. Cubbon Park police have appointed RCB Management, KSCA officials and DNA Entertainment Private Limited in the FIR -submitted after the tragic incident.

Karnataka Chief Minister suspends Bengaluru police chief
The Chief Minister of Karnataka announced that a retired senior court judge, Judge Michael de Cunha, will run a single man’s court commission to investigate Stampede’s tragedy. Above all, the Commission will send its report within 30 days.
“The cabinet, in his wisdom, has made the decision to trust (investigating) the tragedy of yesterday to a single man’s judicial commission, headed by a judge of the Court of Retirement of Karnataka Michael de Arha.
