The incident occurred when Ashwin, who is very active on social media platform X after his retirement, received a comment on one of his posts which read: “Australia thought they can sweep us.” the account with a username @Nishitha018 he commented However, since the account had used Ritika’s name and photo, Ashwin thought she was really Rohit’s wife and gave an instant reply to the comment.

“Hi Ritika, how are you? Greetings to the little one and the family,” Ashwin replied to the impersonator’s post. The user continued to be Ritika and enjoying the traction she had received online after a response from Ashwin. “I’m good Ashwin Anna” he answered him. However, by then, Ashwin realized it was a fake account and deleted the entire conversation.
