Ronaldo Seals Place in the final of the League of Nations after Conceicao Stunner

Cristiano Ronaldo expanded his record of international goals when Portugal came behind to beat Germany 2-1 and reach the final of the League of Nations.

Portugal, winners of the inaugural Nations League in 2019, had not surpassed Germany since the 3-0 victory in the euro 2000, and this race seemed ready to continue after Florian Wirtz, apparently linked to the champions of the Premier League Liverpool, went to Die Mannschaft in 48 minutes.

But Francisco Concepicao, whose father Sergio was targeted in this victory 25 years ago, spectacularly leveled before Ronaldo’s 137th international goal condemned Julian Nagelsmann to his first defeat in Allianz Arena as a German coach.

Introduced as part of a triple change by Roberto Martinez, Conceicao left from the right flank and, not taking time to curb his career, doubled a sublime trait on the left beyond Ter Stegen and out of the post from 25 meters.

Ronaldo then completed the change with a much simpler finish, staying on the side while Nuno Mendes descended on the left and entered from the low installment of Paris Saint-Germain.

The closing stages were frantic and often stormy. Karim Adeyemi struck the post from an angle tight for Germany after Concepeoo had threatened to repeat the trick and double his account, but it was Portugal who seemed most likely to score the fourth goal of the game and establish the equalizer.

A prominent double -savings from Ter Stegen prevented Diogo Jota and conceive of doing this, but did not matter that Portugal saw five minutes of injury to bring a step closer to the title they won six years earlier.
