However, with the Central Business District (CBD) already undergoing heavy traffic, authorities decided that the procedure with the parade would only aggravate congestion, disrupt public movement and pose security risks.
In his notification, Bengaluru Traffic Police advised the public to avoid the roads surrounding the Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy stadium until 8pm, citing the programmed greeting function for the RCB team of the stadium. The advice also emphasized the lack of parking in the area and encouraged fans to use public transport or the metro instead of personal vehicles.
The cancellation has caused the disappointment between the massive fanbase of RCB, which had been waiting for 18 years at this time. Many saw the open bus parade as a tribute appropriate to the team’s perseverance and success. The Central Deputy of Bengaluru PC Mohan criticized the Government for poor planning, saying that the city had a long time to prepare for a reference event, and that celebrations should have felt like a festival, not a disadvantage.

Instead of the parade, RCB will now hold a congratulation event at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5pm to 6pm. The entrance to the stadium is restricted only to tickets or to the headlines. Before the stadium event, players will meet with the Prime Minister of Karnataka SidDaramaiah to Vidhana Soudha and then proceed directly to the enclosure.
Fans without tickets will have to conform to watching the celebrations on television or online, as access to the stadium is well regulated. The decision of the authorities, although disappointing for many, was taken in the interest of public security and to prevent the blockade of the whole city.
