The death of a 10-year-old sacrifice in the Eastern Indian state of Bihar after allegedly delay in medical treatment caused indignation in the country.
The girl died on Sunday morning at the State Government College of Patna and Hospital (PMC) in Patna’s capital.
Her uncle claimed that the child’s condition had deteriorated when she was waiting in an ambulance about four hours on Saturday before going to the hospital.
The PMC authorities denied this, saying that claims to delay upon admission “unjustified”.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the girl’s death was “extremely shameful” and demanded that he resist careless officers.
“The victim rape expected that hours outside the PMC would be recognized … What use of large buildings is built in the name of hospitals, if there is chaos, corruption, behavior, lack of resources and insensitivity?” The main opposition party of the state of Rashtry Jonata Dal said on X.
Leaders BJP and JD (U) denied any negligence. BJP Anaamika Singh Patel’s Press Senior called the death of the girl “unhappy”.
“But I manage the hospitals myself, and I know that getting a bed at the hospital is a process that takes time. People work responsibly in our government,” she said.
