Lazio is back in the former director of Chelsea Sarri

Lazio has returned to Maurizio Sarri as manager, a year after he resigned.

Sarri, 66, resigned as coach of Lazio in March 2024 after almost three years in charge.

Lazio finished seventh in the series at 2023-24, after completing the second season. Sarri replaces Marco Baroni.

“Maurizio Sarri has returned home. His return is a choice of heart, conviction and vision,” said the president of the Club Claudio Lotito in a statement.

“With him we want to resume an interrupted path too soon, aware that together we can bring enthusiasm, identity and ambition. Welcome again to your home commander.”

Sarri has managed a large number of clubs and has spent a year by Chelsea, winning the Europa League in 2019.

He won the series in 2020 during his only season by Juventus.
