Suspect for Colorado -Firefighten attack scheduled for a year, says FBI

Investigators accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at demonstrators attending a march for Israeli hostages in Colorado planned an attack on a year.

Mohammed Sabra Soliman, 45, who has been accused of hatred federal, as well as state charges in the attempted murder, attack and use of an explosive device, appeared in court on Monday.

Officials say the Egyptian national aimed at the group of pro -Israeli rally participants in the open shopping center in Bowlders and shouted “free Palestine” when he threw incendiary devices, injuring eight of them.

At least 16 Molotov cocktails were found nearby. Investigators say he is aimed at the group after searching them online.

This is the last attack on the members of the Jewish community of America.

The weekly demonstration was organized by Run for their lives, which increases the awareness of Israeli hostages that are still conducted in Gaza.

Officials say Mr. Soliman threw two incendiary devices at the Pearl Street mall, and eight victims were burned.

Twelve people, including four men and four women aged 52 to 88, were taken to the hospital, with injuries, ranging from minor to serious.

Earlier, officials stated that there were eight victims, but on Monday, four more came forward with little injuries.

The eldest of the victims is the Holocaust, Rabbi Israel Wilhelm, Director of Chabada at the University of Colorado Bowlder, said the BBC CBS News partner.

The attack at the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Shavuta is attacked.

The suspect appeared in court on Monday via Video -Channel from the Bowlder County prison in less than five minutes, standing and putting on an orange orange.

He answered “yes” to some procedural questions of the judge, but otherwise did not speak. The court scheduled the date of official charges this Thursday.

On Monday, officials said they believed that he was alone.

In an interview after the arrest, Mr. Soliman told the police that he had planned an attack on the year to go after graduation, said a statement about the arrest of the FBI.

He told the police that he wanted to “kill all the Zionists” and attacked again, the court documents said.

In addition to the ambiguous Molotov cocktails, a weed spray, which contains octane gasoline, was found nearby.

According to the police, Mr. Soliman dressed with an orange vest to approach the group of people.

Mr Soliman said he was watching a video from YouTube about how to make Molotov cocktails, the case reports.

Investigators say he told them that he had learned to shoot a pistol in the hoping to receive a hidden sanitation permit, but as a result he used Molotov cocktails because his immigration status prevented him from accessing firearms.

Mr. Soliman went from his house to Colorado -Springs to Baulder, arrived five minutes before the meeting and waiting for the group, according to the court documents. He allegedly stated that he bought gasoline on his way to the attack.

According to the FBI, throughout the interview, Mr. Soliman said that he hated Zionists and aimed at them, because they needed to stop seizing “our land”, which, he said, was a reference to the Palestinian territories.

Mr. Soliman allegedly told the officials that he had left his iPhone hidden in the box for the table with reports to his family, wife and five children. Later, his wife brought the iPhone officials according to the court documents.

Law enforcement officials said there was no pre -defendant on Monday that the defendant was a threat.

“We intended to prosecute Mr. Soliman for his actions, and these accusations are the first step,” said Monday on Monday, who is acting prosecutor in the Colorado District J. Bishop Grevel.

Mr. Soliman moved to Colorado -Springs three years ago and had spent 17 years earlier, living in Kuwait.

In 2022, Mr. Soliman arrived in California on a non-immigration visa, which ended in February 2023, several sources were reported by CBS News.

Internal security officials said they had fallen on a month after arriving, but did not submit details about the results of this immigration case or it was resolved.

Presidential Deputy Chief of Staff Donald Trump Stephen Miller said on X that Mr. Soliman had received permission to work by Biden’s administration after he had overcome the visa.

“In the light of yesterday’s horrible attack, all terrorists, their family members and terrorist condolences here on a visa should know that we will find you, withdraw your visa and deported you under Trump administration,” said US Secretary of State Mark Rubio on X.

D -Soliman has been working as a product delivery driver for Uber since 2023, CBS press secretary said.

According to the company, when he started working on them, he met all the Uber requirements, including the inspection of the criminal and management of history, the provision of photography ID and the valid social insurance number.

Trump said he would not allow a social media report as Mr. Soliman.

“This is another example of why we need to keep our boundaries safe and deport illegal, anti-American radicals from our homeland,” he said.

The Jewish community in the United States has encountered a number of attacks of the attackers, citing Israel-Gaza war.

Last month, two assistants at the Israeli Embassy were shot dead outside the Washington Jewish Museum. Witnesses said the attacker shouted “Free Palestine”.

In April, the man set fire to the residence of Governor Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish. The suspect stated that arson was a revenge for Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
