Erin Paterson provides evidence on the murder murder trial with mushrooms

The Australian woman, who is accused of killing three relatives and serious injuries to another toxic mushrooms, was taken out on her lawsuit.

Erin Paterson did not find herself guilty of four charges – three murder and for a murder attempted – on lunch from Biba Velington at her regional Victorian House in July 2023.

The prosecutor’s office claims that she deliberately searched for mushrooms and prepared them for her relatives before he was lying to the police and disposing.

However, the case in the defense is that Paterson unintentions presented the poison to the members of the family she loved and then “panic”.

Three people were killed in the hospital on days after eating, including the former son-in-law Ms Paterson, the 70th Don Paterson, and the 70th Gayl Paterson, as well as his sister Gayla, Hiser Wilkinson, 66 years.

One guest of dinner – local pastor Jan Wilkinson – survived – after weeks of treatment at the hospital.

For six weeks, the jury in the Supreme Court Victoria heard from more than 50 witnesses that caused the accusation, including the remote husband of Mrs. Paterson Simon and the surviving guest of lunch Jan.

Now it is the turn of the defense to cause witnesses, and the first is Ms Paterson herself.

The 50 -year -old girl told the court that by 2023 she felt for several months, that her relationship with the wide family of Paterson – Don and Gayle, in particular, perhaps, had developed a slightly larger distance or space.

“We’ve seen less,” she says.

“I would have problems that Simon no longer wanted me to get involved with my family.”

After the details of the short period between the couple, when their first child was an infant, Erin Paterson told the court that she and Simon Paterson tried to work out their differences.

“If we had any problems, it was … We couldn’t communicate well if we disagreed with something,” she said.

“We would just feel hurt and do not know how to decide it.”

She also told the court about the traumatic birth of her first child in 2009, less than a year before the first break.

“He began to go into trouble and they lost his heartbeat,” she said.

Her voice was breathless, she explained that the doctors had performed an emergency caesarean to quickly pull her son.

When he was ready to return home, Mrs. Paterson said she was released from the hospital against medical advice because she did not want to stay there alone.

The jury heard that Ms Paterson had released herself from the hospital against medical advice on days after a fatal dinner, which the prosecutor’s office had previously indicated proof that she was not bad.

However, her lawyer Colin Mandy said in her introductory address that she had done it several times for her life.

Ms Paterson gave less than an hour of evidence before the court broke up and returned to resume her testimony on Tuesday.
