Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the program of the Bangladesh The women’s team next tour West Indies, marking a major event in the women’s cricket calendar. The tour, set on the picturesque island of St. Kitts, will have a series of white-ball matches with the aim of strengthening the preparations of both teams for future international engagements.
The tour includes six matches, with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 Internationals (T20Is), all at the iconic Warner Park in Basseterre, St. kits. The ODIs are part of the ICC Women’s Championshipmaking them crucial for both teams in their quest to qualify for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup.
For the West Indies, the WODI series holds special significance as they look to collect points in the ICC Women’s Championship. A good performance here could secure automatic qualification for the World Cup, although there is still a chance via a qualifying tournament for teams that do not qualify directly.
“This series against Bangladesh is crucial for us as we continue our campaign in the 2025 ICC Women’s 50-over Championship. The ODI series carries significant weight for our World Cup qualification hopes, while the matches from the T20I will provide valuable preparation as we continue to add depth to our squad.” said CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe as quoted by WindiesCricket.
Both teams will have access to dedicated training sessions, scheduled in the morning, afternoon and some afternoons, to ensure they are well prepared for matches. These sessions are crucial for players to adapt to the conditions and for coaches to fine-tune strategies.
The Bangladesh team will arrive in St. Kitts on January 14, giving them plenty of time to adjust to local conditions before the series begins.
