In his statement, Hill claims that the student was detained on Saturday without warning and subsequent explanations provided by government officials.

The head of the Milford School District Kevin McIntir says that Gomez’s detention is one of the many fears that are due in the Southern Massachusetts community.

“They are members of the community, students in our classes, athletes competing, presenting Milford, musicians, artists, friends and neighbors. We will do everything that depends on us to support our students and families in these difficult times,” he said in his statement.
On Sunday morning there was a graduate of Milford High School, and Hill says that the day of the celebration was tarnished.
“My heart goes into the Milford community on what was supposed to be a festive end,” she said.
