Luis Diaz states happiness in Liverpool in the middle of the talk of Barcelona

Luis Diaz is “really happy” in Liverpool in the midst of speculation about his future with the Premier League champions.

Diaz scored 17 goals and provided five assists in all competitions in 2024-25, its best season since it joined 2022 from Porto.

Thirteen of Diaz’s goals contributed to Liverpool, raising the Premier League trophy, as they won a 20th English League title entitled Record.

Diaz has a contract with Liverpool until the end of the 2026-27 season, but has been linked to a distance.

Barcelona is fond of international Colombia, while the Saudi side of Al-Nassr has also been accredited by interest in its services.

But in an interview on Liverpool’s official website, Diaz made it clear that he is pleased with life at Anfield.

“I feel like I’m going through a very good period,” said Diaz. “I am very happy to be here, to be part of this great institution, of this great club and of having great teammates around me.

“From the moment I arrived, I was very proud. I have always tried to work hard for it and see that today things work for me, and I am very happy because it is what I work.

“(But) we are noble without our teammates. We are a team. Forwards and wing always try to help with goals and assists, and right now I have achieved good numbers to do it.

“It’s about playing and then playing well, supporting the team in the way they play and enjoy -as always.”

Liverpool won the title with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham in April.

Asked about his emotions that day, Diaz said, “I remembered a lot of things when I was a kid.

“I wanted to play for a great team, I dreamed of playing the Premier League and playing a club as important as Liverpool.

“And while I have gone through many difficult situations, being here and having won a title of the Premier League means that you remember many things, and I am delighted with that.

“I think not many believed in us (at the beginning of the season). We showed what we were on the day, to the day, from the beginning of the season.

“We started to get results and obviously move forward. We learned to believe in what we had, in which the manager asked us and the team is full of quality, great players and this facilitates things.

“And then the results help, 100 percent. Then you have more motivation, you work harder and that’s what I think happened.”
