Hariba recalls the packages of sweets in the Netherlands after some cannabis traces are found.
Several people, including several members of the same family, reported to feel bad after eating with 1 kg Haribo Happy Cola F! Zz.
A press secretary of the food security body in the Netherlands (NVWA) said some reported “dizziness” after eating sweets. Agency told SBS6 Dutch TV Radio Company that “the samples were taken, and they were found cannabis.”
Haribo’s press secretary said BBC that he was working with the police to “set the facts around the pollution.”
NVWA has stated that three packages were found contaminated, but Hariba recalls the entire stock as a precaution.
The bags in question are the best date for January 2026.
It is unclear how many people got bad.
NVWA said the police were investigating how cannabis was in sweets, a report of the Dutch media.
The agency said there are bags that “can lead to health complaints, such as dizziness when consumed.”
“Don’t eat sweets,” the statement reads.
It is unclear whether the contaminated products are genuine bags of Haribo or fake.
Hariba said his consumers’ security was his top priority, adding that he perceived the incident “very seriously”.
The giant confectionery said that the recall was only in the Netherlands and other regions did not affect.
All other products are safe to consume, the company says.
