Rajasthan Royals could land in hot water once again, as his former Propetary Raj Kundra has threatened to publish documents that claim a financial misconduct by a key promoter of the franchise.
In 2009, Raj Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty had purchased 11.7% from Rajasthan Royals for approximately $ 15.4 million. However, his participation with the franchise was completed in 2015.
Was found guilty of corruption in the famous IPL 2013 bets scandal. Later, Kundra admitted that he had made betting on IPL parties through Bookies. However, he had denied any participation in the fixation of parties. In 2015, a Supreme Court jury banned Kundra for life for activities related to IPL and Cricket. Following the verdict, he also sold his stakes in the Rajasthan Royals franchise.

Raj Kundra alleges poor financial conduct by the promoter of Rajasthan Royals:
On Thursday (May 29), Raj Kundra went to X to announce his plans to publish evidence that revealed a financial misconduct by a key promoter of the Rajasthan Royals. He stated that the tests would expose the use of out -of -sea structures and hidden transactions, suggesting that the promoter was involved in shady financial treatment.
“Soon I will publish documented evidence that expose a financial misconduct, through out -of -sea structures and hidden transactions that involve a key promoter of the Rajasthan Royals. This includes deception and manipulation in many shareholders’ relationships!” Raj Kundra wrote to X as he also published a picture with the words “Karma Bol”.

It is not the first time in recent times that the Rajasthan Royals have achieved the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Previously during the season IPL 2025, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), Jaideep Bihani, had accused the franchise of being involved in a gross game after the team’s loss of shock against Lucknow Super Giants.
Rajasthan Royals strongly reacted to the comments and complained to the Rajasthan government against Bihani. Meanwhile, the IPL’s inaugural champions had a disappointing campaign at the IPL 2025. They bowed from the competition in the league phase. The Royals finished in the ninth place of the point table with only 4 wins of 14 games.
