Cher makes a shocking announcement about the late music producer Phil Spector in her memoir Cher: A Memoir, Part One.
In quotes published by The New York Post, the “Believe” singer claims Spector propositioned her for sex when she was just 15 after meeting her through her ex-boyfriend, musician Antonin LoTempio.
“He was a demigod to many, but he was behaving strangely and I didn’t like the way he looked at me,” she wrote.
She claimed that Spector asked to sleep with her in French.

“”Will you sleep with me? he said, grinning, and begged me to sleep with him,” Cher declared.
She continued: “Without breaking a sweat, I looked back at him and replied, ‘Oui, pour l’argent’, which translates to ‘Yes, for the money.’
“You could have knocked him over with a pen. He didn’t think I’d understand the question, let alone the answer.”
Cher shared another encounter with Spector years later, when she confronted him about using her vocals without her permission for the song he released to Europe.

Spector used vocals recorded by Cher and Harry Nilsson as John Lennon’s “audition vocals” for his album, but turned around and released a single, a cover of Martha and the Vandellas’ “A Love Like Yours”, in violation of their contracts. on Entertainment Weekly.
According to the Oscar winner, Spector tried to intimidate her by pulling out a gun and playing with it during their conversation.
“Maybe he was a demigod to many, but he was acting strange and I didn’t like the way he looked at me.”
“He told me he could do whatever he wanted. He said our record companies could sue him if they didn’t like it. Then he took the revolver, which I hadn’t noticed before lying on the green belt,” she wrote, on the socket.
Cher remained adamant: “Looking at him furiously as he twirled it around his fingers, I said, ‘No… with me, Philip!'” she says. “”You can’t pull that… on me, you… hole. It’s me, Cher, okay?””
