Recent studies have shown that Some beer cooked In the US, the high level of “forever chemicals” are considered above the permitted EPA border.
A team from environmental science and ACS technology conducted a study to find out how polyphlious substances (pfas) or “forever chemicals” get into beer and how much they contain.
“I am random beer myself, I wondered whether PFAS make it into the water supply to our pint. I hope these findings are inspired by water treatment strategies that help reduce the likelihood of PFAS in future pourings,” said Jennifer Hopanic Redmone.
In recent years, alcohol death has doubled, especially among women

While breweries have filtering and water purification systems, they are not designed to prevent PFAS entry into the party.
By change EPA testing The PFAS level analysis tool in drinking water, Redmon and its team tested 23 beer.

Command tested beer From areas with well -known document contamination of the water system, along with other popular beers with unknown water sources.
During their research, it was found that beer was brewed in Northern CarolinaCalifornia and Michigan had an elevated level of this PFA.
Researchers have found strong correlation between PFAS concentrations in municipal drinking and local beer levels.

In 95% of the PFAS beer, the PFAS was found with a perfoorctonulfonate and perfoctanic acid, two permanent chemicals with recently created EPA restrictions in drinking water.
International beer is checked – one of the Netherlands and two of the Mexico – were less likely to be discovered by PFAS.

“Our conclusions indicate a solid link between PFAS in drinking water and beer when beer is brewed in areas with higher PFA in local drinking water, which translates to a higher level of PFAS in beer, showing that drinking water is the main path of PFAS contamination in beer,” ended with a research team.
