John has not been present in a game after making headlines last month for going to a heated exchange with Star Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Anttokounmpo. Following the incident, a Pacers spokesman told Espnat Earlier this month John would not be present at any home or away from home games.
Since then John has issued an apology after ridiculing Antetokounmpo, 30, on the court at Indianapolis Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where they were eventually separated by Bucks players and Arena security.
“I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers Foundation for my actions following tonight’s game,” posted John through X in April. “This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake yet.”
Antetokounmpo, for his part, addressed the incident during a postgame interview at the time.
“I believe in being humble in victory,” he said. “Many people out there are like, ‘No, when you win the game, you talk s *** and it’s green light for you to be disrespectful towards someone else.’ I disagree. ”
Antetokounmpo continued, “Losing the game, emotions run high. Get a fan – I was currently thinking he was a fan, but then I realized he was Tyrese’s father.
Anttokounmpo noted that he and John spoke and “in a good place.” In the meantime, Tyrese told reporters at the time that he “does not agree with what happened there from him.”
“Basketball is a ball -basket and let’s keep it on the courtyard. I think he had just excited, he saw his son make a game winner and came on the courtyard, but we had a chat,” said Tyrese, 25. “He needs to allow me to play a balletball and stay over there and I’ll come to him to celebrate.
