The bodies of five skiers were found by rescuers near the luxury resort Zermatt in Switzerland.
They were restored a day after a group of climbers ascended as part of the Rimpfischhorn – 4.199 -meter peak in the Alps of Vales – up to several pairs of skis left unattended near the summit.
Air and terrestrial searches led to the opening of the bodies under the summit at Adler’s glacier, a statement by local police said in a statement on Sunday.
The victims were found at different altitudes at the high -altitude areas near the Swiss Italian border.
Three bodies were located in one area, and two more were found above on a narrow patch of snow, Air Zermatt said.
Later, a fifth pair of ski was found during the search, which confirmed that the group had traveled as a five -party party. Their identity has not yet been officially released.
The prosecutor’s office of the State Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
In a separate incident, on Friday night, Air Zermatt also participated in the difficult rescue of the mountains on Fisherner, where four climbers were cut amid fog and high wind.
The initial evacuation attempt was to be interrupted from the weather, but the second attempt immediately after the north brought all four safe.
