Chris Lynn, caught off guard by Riley Meredith’s helmet-smashing delivery, suffers a terrifying blow


Adelaide Strikers batsman Chris Lynn has been the shining light for his side in the ongoing match against Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. The game between the two teams will take place on Sunday (January 5) at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.

Lynn, who opened the innings for Adelaide Strikers, played a vital innings for his team in the ongoing match between Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes. Australia’s batsman was at his brutal best and hit bowlers all over the park wearing down the opposition.

But the Adelaide Strikers batsman didn’t have the kind of start he would have liked. Chris Lynn was hit hard on the head in the first over, and was down. Fortunately, things didn’t get any worse for him as after the review he got up and batted again.

In the last ball of the first over, Riley Meredith bowled a menacing short ball which was delivered at a brisk pace. Lynn looked to catch on but was crushed by the helmet and every Hobart Hurricanes player came over to check on the Adelaide Strikers batsman.

Lynn, after the hit, looked a little shaken and was on the ground. Fortunately, he seemed fine as the physical therapist rushed to check on him. The batsman passed the mandatory test and was given the all-clear to continue batting after dealing with a life-threatening blow.

After dealing the blow, Chris Lynn looked fine and looked menacing. The Adelaide Strikers batsman brought the best of his brutal manner with the bat as he ensured his team got off to a flying start with the bat, hitting the bowlers with the utmost ease to all corners of the park.

Chris Lynn was all set for a half-century but the batsman was left with just one run

Lynn looked poised for a half-century, but the batsman fell just one run short of the milestone. The batsman was returning to the hut after scoring 49 runs off 27 balls. He hit 5 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, batting at a strike rate of around 182.

Lynn was removed by Waqar Salamkheil in the 9th over and it was a huge sigh of relief for the team. The bowler bowled a wider one which was a googly. He made Lynn stretch for him and miscued it to deep square leg.

Adelaide Strikers had a great start with the bat as they piled up a massive total of 186 runs. Along with Chris Lynn, it was skipper Ollie Pope, who played a fine hand of 33, and Alex Ross, who scored 47 runs, to take the team to the big total on the board.
