“Hala Madrid and nothing more”

Real Madrid’s legends, Luka Modric and Carlo Ancelotti, gave emotional elections to the multitude of Santiago Bernabeu after the final game of the season’s league.

Modric moves as part of a reconstruction under coach Xabi Alonso, while Ancelotti leaves to take office as lead coach of Brazil for the 2026 World Cup.

Both received typhoes retained by the crowd during the 2-0 victory of Madrid on Real Sociedad on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams received a Guard of Honor after being subjected to the last stages of the game, with the Croatian midfielder known by the former Madrid team companion, Toni Kroos on the contact line.

After the game, both Modric and Ancelotti gave speeches in the crowd, with the first saying: “The moment I did not want has arrived. I won many trophies, but the biggest trophy that I bring home is your love for all these years.

“I will end with a phrase I like very much: don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Hala Madrid and nothing more.”

Modric will remain with Madrid for the Club World Cup, before deciding whether to find a new team or withdraw.

He added: “One last dance in the Club World Cup. We will give everything to bring the trophy here and celebrate -with our people. Finishing my Real Madrid career with this title would be incredible.”

Ancelotti was seen with full -time tears, as was the president of the Florentino Pérez club.

Speaking to the microphone, Ancelotti said, “First, I would like to thank my dear President, Florentino Pérez. It has been great, thank you for these moments.

“It has been extraordinary to experiment with you, it has been an unforgettable story because no one can forget Karim’s three goals against PSG, no one can forget the two of Rodrygo against the city or the assistance of Luka.

“And no one can forget the two goals of Joselu. And I can’t forget -every day I have passed here. And I will end with Hala Madrid and nothing else. I love you all.”
