The Cannes encountered the nationwide power on Saturday, breaking the prestigious film festival and closing restaurants as well as enterprises.
The French police are investigating the suspect as a reason for the shutdown after the AA substation in the village of Tanneran, which supplies Cannes, was attacked by arson in the first hours.
Despite the violations, the Cannes Film Festival was able to use private generators to restore the festival – before the authorities were restored at 15:00 (14:00 BST).
