Newcastle hosted Everton in St James Park this Sunday as a Magpies Champions League football.
Eddie Howe’s side knows that the victory of the last day would get his place in next season’s competition, but any stumble could be seen outside the coveted top Five.
Newcastle is well positioned, having gathered an impressive six wins at home in the league.
His last confrontation of the final day against Everton, he did not go to plan. Back in the 2011-12 season, they needed a victory in Goodison Park to sneak in the top four, only to be hit by 3-1 by Toffees by David Moyes.
Everton went wrong in St James Park in recent seasons, achieving only one point of his last four trips. However, they managed to get a point on their most recent visit, keeping a draw in Newcastle thanks to the late penalty of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Although there is no threat of relegation for visitors, Everton has the opportunity to finish the campaign with three consecutive wins, a feat that they have not won since the 1980’s.
Eddie Howe in Alexander Isak:
“Alex is OK, he has not yet trained with us, but he has advanced well. The coming days will be crucial for his availability for the weekend. There is a possibility, we will only play it if it is apt to contribute. We will leave the decision to Alex … pic.twitter.com/ne31rqolee

Alexander Isak meant the loss of arsenal due to muscle rigidity, but Howe hopes to adapt to this crucial game. If not, Callum Wilson, who has a strong score record against Everton, is likely to come in.
Kieran Trippier is a doubt, as it recovers from a beef strain, while Lewis Hall, Joelinton and Matt Targett remain on the sidelines.
For Everton, Jarrad Branthwaite’s problem is discarded, as James Tarkowski does, which means that Michael Keane will continue to defense.
The injury of Captain Seaamus Coleman has finished his season and there is no room for JSPER Lindstrom and Orel Mangala loans.

Newcastle has shown that they can deliver -when it counts, and this end of the house should not be an exception.
Everton has little to play and can fight to combine the intensity of the Magpies.
