Boxing Results: Harper and Hughes claim dominant victories in Doncaster

Terry Harper (16-2-2, 6 kos) of the WBO World (16-2-2, 6 kos) easily defeated the former World Super Lightweight World and the Natalie Zimmermann invistic (13-1, 3 kos) in Germany by a ten-round unanimous decision on Friday night at the Keeepmoat Stadium, Doncaster, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

At the Co-Main event, Maxie ‘Maximus’ Hughes (29-7-2, 6 kos) easily defeated Archie ‘Sharphooter’ Sharp (25-2, 9 kos) by a 12-round unanimous decision to capture the light title of the WBC silver.

Harper, 28, beat Zimmermann by 10 × 2 rounds on the edge. In the first two rounds, Harper had his way, having Zimmerman against the ropes in defense on several occasions. In the last seconds of the third round, Harper retreated to Zimmerman’s head with a solid outbreak. In the fourth until the sixth round, Harper had his way, having Zimmerman at the end of the reception.

In the eighth and the ninth round, Zimmermann continued to advance with his high hand, showing little offense while Harper countered him mostly in his head. In the tenth and final round, with a remaining minute, Zimmermann suffered an unpleasant cut on the right eye due to a chuck of heads and the blood covered his face. The ring doctor checked him, allowing him to continue.

The scores were 99-91, 99-91 and 99-91. Steve Gray was the referee.

Former British World Champion and Ibo Light, Maxi Hughes, won an unpleasant decision on the former WBO euro champion, Archie Sharp, for a 12-round unanimous decision.

In the first three rounds, SouthPaw Hughes had the edge, chasing much of the ring. Sharp stood in the fourth round, even turning to Southpaw sometimes, while Hughes still had an advantage.

In the sixth round, Hughes landed a right hook on his chin after a minute. Sharp began to show -for nothing, losing another round. In the final minute of the seventh round, Hughes hurt with a left hook on the chin.

Hughes swing with a combination of the chin in the final minute of the tenth round in this unilateral struggle. Hughes landed a right hook on his chin in the eleventh round, hurting. In the twelfth and final round, Hughes easily won what could be a performance. Sharp did not win any fans in this one.

The scores were 115-113, 116-112 and 120-108. Victor Loughlin was the referee.

Former British central champion Jimmy ‘The Young Lion’ Flint (15-3-2, 3 kos), fighting with a wounded right arm, lost in front of the old EBU union and the Mediterranean champion of WBC Haithem ‘The Flash’ Laamouz (21-2, 9 kos) for a ten-round unanimous decision for the continental vacancy Super Light.

In the second round, Flint is favoring the right arm, which seemed injured, as Laamouz takes the round. From the third to the fifth round, Flint only uses the left hook for most due to an injured right, as Laamouz takes another round that beat it.

In the eighth and the ninth round, although only using its left flint seemed to make rounds. In the tenth and final round, it was another close, as they both hugged after the fight ended.

The scores were 98-93, 98-92 and 96-94. John Latham was the referee.

Southpaw Ellie Hellewell (7-0, 1 ko) defeated Stevi Levy (13-4, 1 ko) by a ten-point decision. Referee John Latham scored 97-94.

Super Welterweight southpaw Joe Hayden (18-0-1, 1 KO) defeated Lewis Booth (16-2) by an eight-round decision. The score was 78-75. Michael Alexander was the referee.

Super Middleweight Taz ‘The Butcher’ Nadeem (6-0, 3 kos) won a hard decision of six rounds on Bahadur Karami (4-30-4, 1 KO).

In the first round, Nadeem hurt Karami with the right in the final minute, although he had blood from his own nose. In the final minute of the third round, a karami bite re -removed blood from the Nadeem’s nose.

In the fifth round, he went ahead and forward on who was ahead. Karami’s face is marked, but may have taken the tour in its eighth fight of the year. Both had times in the sixth and final round, with NADEEM with advantage.

Referee John Latham scored 60-55.

Edward ‘Farm Boy’ Hardy (4-0, 2 kos) feather weight perspective defeated Darwing Martinez (8-32-2, 6 kos) for a 6-point decision.

In the second round, Hardy, halfway through the round, landed a upper right part to the Martínez chin, removing -blood from his mouth. In the third round, after half a minute, a Hardy’s left hook next to the head dropped Martinez for a 8 referee Mark Downing count.

In the fifth round, after a minute, Hardy threw Martinez on the canvas because their participation with the referee did not separate them enough. In the sixth and final round, the referee finally took a point from Martinez to celebrate. Martinez entered the survival mode to reach the distance. When Hardy caught him, he worked on his body and head.

Referee Mark Downing scored 60-52.

Super Welterweight Jamie ‘Thorr’ Mellers (8-1, 1 ko) stopped Cameron Kaihau (9-2) at 2:33 in the second round of a scheduled 6-lap struggle.

In the second round, Mellers had Kaihau at his feet, forcing referee John Latham to stop.
