Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell Choose to listen to their original song their biological daughter Carly.
“We never chose not to listen to the song. We were actually very excited, very touched and we couldn’t wait to hear them,” wrote Tyler, 33, through Instagram On Thursday, May 22. “But, all this was thrown out of nowhere with MTV setup.… This was all the idea of MTV as their producers were the only ones our biological daughter’s parents were ready to talk to about all this.”
He added, “Their original plan was to have an MTV to film them and their family, as long as MTV had not spoken about the adoption when filming. MTV didn’t think it made sense, so they compromised behind the scenes with this song idea.”
In Thursday’s episode of Teen Mother: The Next Chapter. Dr. Drew pinsky She told Tyler and Catelynn, 33, that he had a video of Carly singing by her parents, Brand and Teresa Davisshe adopted in 2009. The MTV stars said they did not want to hear the film while filming the show.
“(This) was the first time Cate had never heard him sing before, he became a very emotional day intensely. So recognizing this and wanting to prepare ourselves, all we asked was giving us a moment first listening privately,” added Tyler. “In that way we could collect/process ourselves a little, and then we could listen and play it on camera afterwards, as they wanted.”
During the episode on Thursday, MTV claimed when Catelynn asked for the link to hear the performance privately, Brandon and Teresa denied the application. (Weekly US have reached out for comments.)
“It was really heartbreaking to get something so special hanging ahead, so he could be torn away like that,” said Tyler. “Open adoption steering as a birth parent is so difficult, especially with such a consistent, unbalanced power dynamics. Biological parents are always at the mercy of the adopters (which is understandable, as we are the ones who surrendered our baby to them), but that still makes it less hard or painful.”
Tyler further noted that he and Catelynn had been touched Offer Brandon and Teresa.
“It’s such a beautiful and meaningful gift,” he wrote. “We asked if we could listen to it first because it brings a lot of emotions and sadness. For us, it’s so lovely to listen to it, but it also brings a lot of feelings.”
Tyler also said he and his wife were “incredibly angry” if any of their comments about adoption were excited Brandon, Teresa or Carly.
“We will always talk about adoption, share the facts, share great stories and the bad stories of adopters,” he continued. “We will always talk about adoption, (but) we will not talk about our adoption journey going forward.”
He added, “We are these adults and our job is to put aside everything for the best interests of Carly, which requires open, honest and transparent communication. So we hope going forward, you will take part in that requirement.”
Tyler and Catelynn Carly set for his adoption after his birth in 2009. Although they intend to start open adoption, the 16 and pregnant Alums later claimed that Brandon and Teresa were still pushing back on any part. In a chapter in March, Catelynn also claimed that they were blocked on social media.
“The last time I saw Carly was, like, two years ago,” Catelyn she was told only Weekly US In January. “It’s very difficult. At the end of the day, I really want whatever she wants and whatever looks for Carly, that’s all I want. Basically they’ve closed the adoption on us. That’s difficult.”
Meanwhile, Brandon and Teresa have never publicly addressed any drama with Tyler and Catelynn, who Share younger girls Nova, 10, Vaeda, 6, and rya, 3.
