The Trump administration has passed to the end of Harvard’s ability to record foreign students by escalating a line at the oldest university in America.
Home Security Minister Christie Noah wrote on X that the administration had withdrawn the certification “Student Student Program and Exchange” as a result of their non -compliance with the law “.
“Let it be a warning for all universities and academic institutions across the country,” she wrote.
In a statement, Harvard called this step “illegal”.
“We fully strive to maintain Harvard’s ability to accept our foreign students and scientists, who come from more than 140 countries and enrich the university – and this nation is immense,” the university said.
“We are working quickly to provide recommendations and support for our community members. This retribution threatens serious damage to the Harvard community and our country, and undermines the academic and research mission of Harvard.”
Trump administration decisions can affect thousands of foreign students studying at the university.
Almost 7,000 foreign students were enrolled in the institution last academic year, showing the university data, which is 27.2% of its student building.
