Natalie Portman admit that it was “difficult” going through the awards season while she was pregnant in 2011, remembering specific experience in the Oscaries that year.
“I couldn’t drink at all during all those events, which was difficult,” Portman, 43, said during Tuesday’s chapter, May 20, “Dish from Waitrose” podcast. “It’s a lot of stress. It’s a lot of attention.… And I was sober while not everyone else.”
Portman said it was “so big” because of her pregnancy, which led to unnecessary comments.
“Everyone was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to pop.’ I was like, ‘I’m four months pregnant.’ Everyone was like, ‘You must give birth tomorrow. “I was like,’ I have another five months to go. ‘

Following his divorce, Portman has begun to talk more honestly for her role as a mother.
“My children are always a source of excitement, because you just see them develop into individuals they are,” he said in Interview magazine Profile published last month. “I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, with their children and my children; that’s pretty fun.”
She was asked during the same interview whether having a family allowed “balance” in her personal and professional life.
“Having children, that wasn’t my motivation really,” she replied, referring to her ex. “I was just excited to have children, and with a person I was in love with. But it’s really important to have people in your life who keep you on the ground.”
