In a development that has shaken the debate throughout the Premier League India (IPL) Circuit, the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI)The recent decision to review the game schedules in the middle of the season has been under scrutiny. Adjustment on additional time addition for rain -affected games has not dropped well with franchises especially Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)which recently suffered a crucial wash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) which ended with their playoff aspirations.
Venky MysoreKKR’s CEO, has taken a strong position on the matter, trying his concerns directly to the IPL’s Operational Director Hemang Amin. In his communication, Mysore emphasized that the sudden extension of admissible play time could have changed the result of his equipment impacted by the rain in Bengaluru.
“When the IPL started again on May 17, it was clear that the game between KKR and RCB was at high risk due to rain. The forecast was available for everyone to see.” Mysore wrote how Cricbuzz cited.
“The game was washed, but if the 120 -minute buffer applied was applied, at least a contest of five more could have been possible,” Added.
Above all, KKR hopes for the grade of the playoff were hung by a thread that entered the Bengaluru match. Rain-induced non-result not only cost them valuable points, but also impetus at a crucial moment of the season. The BCCI introduced the change of rule after a meeting of the Governing Council, modifying the game of game 13.7.3 to take into account the possible weather interruptions. Under the new directive, one can now delay one hour of start (ISST) at 19:30 until 9.30 pm without any reduction. Previously, the parties only had one hour grace. The new directive means that a party of five more can theoretically start near midnight. The revised rule is in force for the remaining eight games of the league phase.
