For the Keyshawn Davis champion, this will be the second time leading an event in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Challenger, Edwin de los Santos, will make his second attempt to win a world title, as he plans to invade the champion’s defense house and play the role of Spoiler.
Dominican boxer Edwin de los Santos took attention to the public in September 2022 when he accepted a last -minute struggle against the growing then slightly improper contestant Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela. In the opening round of the contest, the Santos decided to jump -the process of feeling.
De los Santos immediately advanced and landed several hits hard. He continued the attack in the second round, but was demolished when Valenzuela trapped him with a left hook.
De los Santos got up and then scored a stroke when he landed a hard shot. De los Santos equalized the score regarding the losses, but lost a point due to the fact that he hit Valenzuela as he was down.
In the third round, De los Santos floated Valenzuela for the second time when a large hook landed on the left. Valenzuela was able to get up, but later to the third, of Los Santos forced the referee to stop the contest when a series of punished shots landed.
After participating in an exciting fire fight in 2022, De Los Santos participated in the most non -event struggle of 2023 when he faced Shakur Stevenson. In a game for the Light WBC title, Stevenson took a short risk, as he resisted participating and managed to dance his way to victory.
The 25-year-old SouthPaw, Southpaw, Edwin de los Santos (16-2, 14 kos) is about to make a second shot in a world title. Entering his fight against the Wbo Keyshawn Davis champion, the challenger of the Santos feels confident and motivated.
From a historical point of view, in June 1968, Carlos Cruz defeated Carlos Ortiz through the division decision and became the first Dominican Light World Champion. If Edwin de los Santos can defeat Davis on June 7, he will become the second Dominican boxer to win a world title in Lightweight.
During his appearance at the Joel de Broadway podcast, in Los Santos he acknowledged the fact that he feels very confident and that self -insurance comes from his observation of his opponent.
“Look, I’ve seen a couple of videos and touched it, small punches and he doesn’t like it. I mean, the reaction I saw is like a strange, like soft,” he said of Los Santos.
Edwin de los Santos, is a skilled boxer punch that has power in both hands. He thinks that if he is able to land his shots, power will be overwhelmed Davis.
The Challenger of Los Santos believes that the only Keyshawn Davis path to victory is to run like Shakur. During his interview, De Los Santos gave a severe warning as to whether Davis runs and decides to stop, when he stated, “If he stops, he dies there.”
