The European Union has proposed a two -year flat fee for billions of small parcels sent directly to the homes of people who are mostly from China at the moment.
The new tax will mean that packages worth less than 150 euros (£ 126) are no longer customs.
The Internet market is expected, including the Chinese Temu and Shein giants, will pay the fee, said EU Commissioner Maras Sefkovich.
Last year, 4.6 billion such parcels entered the EU, and more than 90%came from China.
