Swat has been raised for spinoff after multiple cancellations – and days after CBS The Finishing of the Show Series was broadcast – But which cast members return for the new iteration?
Sony announced on Sunday, May 18, that a new spinoff series starred Shemar Moore As Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson is raised. Sony Pictures TV produces and distributes Swat Excenses Worldwide with development is currently underway and production is due to start in Los Angeles this summer.
According to the official press release, the 10 episode series arises after “High Profile Leg Sideways mission, Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrielson is taken out of compulsory retirement to lead an experimental SWAT unit on the last success which includes unproven non -tested young recruits.” Moore’s character must “bridge a generation split, steer conflict personalities, and turn a group of outside people into a team that can protect the city and save the program that made him who he is.”
Moore, 55, reflect on the decision to re -appear his role, which comes two days after CBS broadcast the Swat Series Finish.
“My eight seasons on SWAT have been epic and memorable. We entertained the world, challenged the Ods, came back from the dead twice, and continues to woo supporters and families around the world,” said the actor. “I’m excited about this next generation and an Iteration of Swat with Sony. Katherine Pope, Neal H. Moritz, Jason Ning, and I’ll keep the franchise, a thrill riding action, a warm drama, and tell stories of Swat live. We don’t miss !!!!
Based on the 1975 TV show and the 2003 film adaptation of the same name, Swat Centralized around the Los Angeles Police Department. CBS Series performed for the first time in 2017 and broadcast six seasons before It was raised for a last seventh run. Ultimately CBS reversed that decision and Swat He returned for season 8. But the celebration did not last long – the network canceled the show for the second time in March.
Last season Swat stars too Jay Harrington, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit, Anna and Ritch, Annie Ilonzeh and Niko PepajBut there’s no word yet on who could return for the spinoff.
Before news about Swat Excenses Broke, Ilonzeh spoke to Weekly US relating to are trying to revive the series.
“We cross our fingers. So a specific discussion is having. Hopefully I can say (soon) we really did. We rallyed for the third time,” he split in April. “But we make noise. They see it – interested producers and streams – they’re like, ‘Okay, this is something.’ So if we can plug and play, we’re all ready to go.
In spite of fighting for Swat to have a new home, he would be the last battle of the show to stay on the air.
“I was just talking to (my costar) Shemar (Moore) yesterday and it was, ‘If I did this for the third time – whenever we are canceled again – I’ll be fine with it. I don’t fight for a fourth (time) because we actually did it and we finished on that,’” he noted. “We will finish on the fighting and victory and delight in all this and squeeze the life out of it. We will know we have done it, we did our work and we can walk happy campers away.”
