King Charles III worth much more than it was last year.
UK announcement The Sunday Times Their “rich list” announced annual on Friday, May 16, which looks at the finances of some of Britain’s biggest names. Charles, 76, did not make it in the top 10, but its estimated £ 640 million (converting to nearly $ 850 million) is still impressive.
According to the newspaper, Charles’ estimated net value rose close to £ 30 million (converting to nearly $ 40 million) from 2024 to 2025. The list also noted that Charles had significantly rebuilt his funding after his £ 17 million divorce (converting to $ 22 million) from Princess Diana in 1996.
The most recent Sunday times “Rich lists” has revealed that Charles is significantly richer than his mother, Queen Elizabeth IInever before her September 2022 Death at the age of 96. It has been estimated to reach a net value of $ 486 million.
US Weekly reported previously that Charles made nearly $ 25 million a year as king of England.
Biographer Robert Hardman previously leaned on the wealth of the royal family during an interview with The TimesNoting that “people are confused about the Royal Finance.” He also explained that they do not technically own duchies or some estates.
“To be honest their financial arrangements are not as complicated as (some) many royal families and governors in other countries, which are often much more opaque,” shared the royal historian in April 2023. “Our kingdom is not as rich as many people would believe.
The main source of income of the monarchy comes from a taxpayer -funded settlement called the Sovereign Grant, which is paid annually.
In June 2024, the sovereign grant was reported to rise to £ 132 million (converting to $ 175 million) in 2025-2026, compared to the figure £ 86 million (converting to $ 114 million) from 2024-2025. (The sovereign grant money is also going to maintain property and staff costs.)
The amount is calculated as the level of profit earned by the Crown Estate, which is a commercial business that owns and manages a wide portfolio of land and property for the monarchy. This is used as a benchmark calculated to fund the royal family.
The same report June 2024 noted that the Crown Estate will reassess the sovereign grant for 2026-2027 and ensure that it is at “an appropriate level.”
