Former FBI Director James Komi is investigated by a secret service after he shared and then removed the position on social media, which is allegedly republican inciting violence against President Donald Trump.
Komi posted on Instagram a photo of marine seashells, which writes the numbers “8647”, which he ordered: “The cool formation on my beach walk.”
The figure 86 is the slang-term, the definition of which includes “deviation” or “get rid of”, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, which also noted that it was recently used as the term “murder”.
Trump is the 47th US president. Home Security Minister Christie Noah claimed that the message was calling for Trump’s murder, but Komi said he was against violence.
In a report in X, the press secretary of the secret service Anthony Gugliml said: “We are actively investigating everything we can perceive as a potential threat against our defense.
“We know about the reports on the social media of the former FBI director, and we perceive the rhetoric as it is very serious. In addition, we do not comment on the issues of protective intelligence.”
Komi deleted a message on Instagram, saying that he “suggested that (sea shells) were a political message.”
“I didn’t realize that some people associate these numbers with violence,” he added. “I never came to my mind, but I oppose the violence of any kind, so I took the post.”
Last year, Trump survived two attempts to murder.
The current director of the FBI Kash Podel responded in social media, saying that the bureau “knew about the recent post in the social media of the former FBI director James Komi aimed at President Trump.”
“We are in communication with the secret service and the director of Curran. The main jurisdiction is with the SS (secret service) on these issues, and we, the FBI, we provide all the necessary support.”
Home Security Secretary Christie Noah said on X: “Aganic former FBI director James Komi just called for the murder of Trump.”
She said her department and the secret service would investigate the case.
The Deputy Chief of Staff of the White House, Dan Scabino, posted on X, accusing Komi of “request a bad actor/terrorists to ensure Potus” while traveling internationally “, citing Trump’s current tour in the Middle East.
President’s eldest son Donald Trump -Jr. also replied to X, commenting on: “James Komi cause (sic) calling for killing my father.”
Komi held the position of FBI director between 2013-17.
He had a violent position in the post, which included a high -profile investigation into the e -mail of Democratic Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton a few weeks before the 2016 election that she lost Trump.
He was fired by Trump against the backdrop of Russia’s intervention in 2016.
