Ben Cohen, co -founder of Ben & Jerry’s, was arrested during a US Senate protest on Israeli military assistance and humanitarian conditions.
On Wednesday, protests, while the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F Kennedy, gave testimony.
Mr. Cohen was charged with offenses, and six other protesters were arrested and threatened with a number of more serious allegations, US Capitol police said.
The video, which was shared in the social media, showed that the police were carrying the police from the building tied behind her back.
“Congress kills poor children in gas, buying bombs and paying for it by knocking out children from Medicaid in the US,” he said in the video after someone asked why he was “arrested”.
A police press secretary said Mr. Cohen was accused of crowded, obstacle or relationship -a crime that is often used in civil disobedience in the US capital.
Six other demonstrators were also arrested at the hearing and threatened the accusation, including the attack on a police officer and/or opposed arrest.
Ben and Jerry have long been known for holding a public position on social and political issues, as it was founded in 1978 by Mr. Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.
He often supported companies on issues such as LGBTQ+ Right and Climate Change.
In 2000, Ben & Jerry’s acquired a multinational consumer goods giant.
The agreement on the merger of two companies was set up by an independent council that instructed to defend the values and mission of Ben and Jerry.
But Unilever and Ben & Jerry’s were in loggerheads for a while. Their relationships went in 2021 when Ben and Jerry announced that they stopped sales on the west shore.
Both companies are currently recorded in a legal battle.
In response to a request for comment, the Unilever press secretary told the BBC News: “Ben Cohen holds the position as a citizen of the activist on issues he considers personally important.
“These actions are performed on their own as a person, not on behalf of Ben and Jerry or Unilever.”
In March, Ben and Jerry launched a court case, accusing Unilever of dismissing Executive Director David Steve Above the differences on the brand political campaigns.
At the time, the Unilever Press Socialist stated that “disappointed that the confidentiality of a career’s career was announced.”
The dispute has grown over the last year when Ben and Jerry advocated ceasefire into gas.
