The Bologna manager, Vincenzo Italiano, called the Coppa Italia triumph of his “incredible” team and labeled his “extraordinary” players after Rossoblu beat Milan 1-0 to end a 51-year-old wait for a major trophy.
Striker Dan Ndoye marked what turned out to be the winner eight minutes after half the time, while Bologna lifted the Coppa Italia for the third time in the history of the club and the first since 1974.
Milan had been looking for a double domestic after his Italian supercopp victory in the previous season, but it was a night that he finally belonged to Italiano, who after two defeats in the conference league and a final loss of Italia Coppa as Fiorentina manager, finally put his hands on some silver.
And the importance of the occasion was not certainly lost in the Bologna CAP, who struggled to hide his full -time elage.
“After some disappointments, I think we deserved this, especially when we played a great game tonight. It was an incredible performance, we learned again what Milan would do in the second half, so we responded,” said Italiano.
“This amazing year is crowned with this trophy, which is what these fans deserved.”

Speaking of his three previous heart evils, Italiano said: “There were also three very great disappointments.
“Honestly, I didn’t think I could go back directly and win, but I did it. I dedicate it to these guys, who are extraordinary.”
The 47 -year -old young man also devoted the victory to the missing Joe Barone, the director of Fiorentina, who in 2024 had a heart attack at the team’s hotel hours before a series A and died in the hospital a few days later.
“His son sent me a message this morning and I was immensely satisfied,” said Italiano.
“We approached so much to the lifting of silverware with him and they mean a lot to me.”
