Former US President Joe Biden’s assistants have returned to a new book that accuses his internal White House circle of covering his “physical deterioration” during his ill -fated re -election campaign.
According to the book, the initial sin, the state of Biden during his presidential run of 2024 was so poor that the assistants discussed, putting it in a wheelchair.
The 82nd Biden’s press -secretary said that “evidence of aging was not evidence of mental disability” and claimed that the Democrat was “a very effective president”.
Jake Topper’s book and Alex Thompson from Axios should be released on May 20.
Biden dramatically ended his re -elected campaign last July shortly after the catastrophic debate against Republican Donald Trump.
Party insiders accused him of leaving the race too late, leaving his replacement, Kamal Vice President Harris, 107 days to challenge Trump, who had swept away.
On the eve of the release of Biden’s book last week gave his first interview after leaving the White House to BBCsaying, “I don’t think it would have important” if he had left the race faster.
While the book largely refers to anonymous sources in an interview with more than 200 people, one of the few, cited on the record, -daid Plus, who worked on Vice President Harris.
“We so tired Biden as a party,” the book quoted.
The authors write: “Biden’s physical deterioration is the most obvious in his stop – they became so serious that there were internal discussions about putting the president in a wheelchair, but they could not do it before the election.
“Given Biden’s age (his doctor Kevin O’Connar) also said privately that if he has another bad fall, a wheelchair may be necessary for what can be a difficult recovery,” the book adds.
Biden’s physical condition declined so much, the authors stated that the assistants sought to make sure that he walked shorter distances, used the handrails when installing the stairs and more often wore coaches.
At one time, Biden’s assistants repeatedly told reporters that his changed walking was linked to the fracture of the legs in November 2020 and the subsequent refusal consistently wearing his prescribed surgical bot.
In an axios statement, Biden’s anonymous assistant said: “Yes, there were physical changes when he has grown, but evidence is not a testimony of mental disability.”
The secretary -secretary added: “We are still waiting for anyone, to note where Joe Biden must make the president’s decision or accept the president’s address, where he could not do his work from -to -mental decline.
“In fact, the data indicates the opposite – it was a very effective president.”
The book of Tappers and Thompson also says Biden did not recognize George Clooney in a Star California Star Company last June, which was conducted by the Hollywood star.
“Thank you for being here,” Biden Clooney said at the event, apparently unaware that he was talking to the winner of the Academy Award.
“You know George,” said Biden’s assistant when he fought for working out the club.
Shortly after the incident, Clooney wrote an opinion in The New York Times, urging Biden to get out of the race. The actor was one of the first major donors to publicly withdraw his support.
The book also states that Biden has forgotten the names of veteran assistants, including trusted loyalist Mike Donilon, national security advisers Jake Sulivan and White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield.
