Christine Brownhusband, David WoolleyHe pulled the curtain back on his first marriage and shared details of his wife’s death on the latest episode of Sister wives.
“I blame myself,” David, 61, told Christine, 53, during Sunday’s episode, May 11, from TLC series, as they had a heart for heart Janelle and Kody brownSon Garrisondeath by suicide In March 2024.
While David noted that he did not know Garrison well Before his death at the age of 25He understood the feeling of loss that Christine and her family were experiencing because his first wife had died in a similar way.
“My wife, my children’s mother, took her life,” shared David, referring to her eight children. “One of the hardest things I ever did was tell my children that their mother was not coming home.”
David – who was married for 20 years before his death died in 2012 – remembered asking his sister, “What am I doing?” When he learned that his wife was gone. “It’s like, ‘You need to tell them.’ And I told them, ”he said before being choked on camera. “It was the hardest thing, crying, realizing she wasn’t coming back.”
David admitted, “I felt I had disappointed my children,” noting that he has been more than 10 years, and he is “still” going “emotional.”
“Their mother was very special. I’ve seen plenty of David’s home videos (to know),” Christine told the cameras. “She loved her children and there are so many happy moments and happy memories. I’m glad they have the home videos of them, so they remember because I think without those, I think they forget because it’s so sad.”

David and Christine tied the knot in October 2023 and Garrison one of the brown children present. “I’m so glad he came to our wedding,” said Christine during Sunday’s episode, revealing since Garrison’s death “nothing the same.”
She thought emotionally how much garrison will lose it with their family moving on. “I’m never going to be his children’s mother. Never,” said Christine through tears. (She and Janelle are still close and remain in each other’s children’s lives.)
While Christine and David were Somber most of the conversation, there was some level when they revealed the logic behind a tree planted in their yard in honor of a garrison.
“Sedona midnight is the tree we planted for Garrison on his birthday,” explained Christine, noting that the Moniker was because of some “funny” thing he once said. “Sedona midnight would have been the name of Garrison’s stripper if he decided to be a stripper. He took a picture of Sedona and then that was his comments about it.”
The flowering tree Louisa is a willow tree that will always be in their house in case they need to “talk to Garrison.”
