Karun Nair, who last played in India in 2017, is online for such a long -awaited return to the national team. He came to play a place in the squad after his impressive performances during the 2024-25 domestic season with Vidarbha. Nair wrote down his triple century of single against England in 2016.
Nair dominated the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazarer Trophy. He played a crucial role in the victory of the title in the Ranji 2024/25 trophy, accumulating 863 runs in 16 entries with an average of 53.93 with four centuries and two half a century. The batter was the second highest scorer in Vidarbha, behind Yash Rathod.
Nair’s performance at the Vijay Hazarere trophy was equally impressive, where he was the top scorer in the tournament with 779 runs in 9 games with a notable average of 389.50, including a record of five and a half centuries in only eight entries.
Sarfaraz Khan, included in the Trophy Trophy of India, did not have the opportunity to play during the series. The right -hand baptism made his debut last year against England. However, he suffered an injury earlier this year and there was no update on his recovery.
The Indian Tests series against England will begin in Headingley on June 20, with the remaining parties scheduled in Birmingham (July 2-6), Lord (July 10-14), Old Trafford (July 23-27) and Oval (July 31 to August 4).
The Men in Blue have not won a series of tests in England since 2007. During the tour of 2021-22, they led the 2-1 before the final test was delayed due to Covid-19. When the series resumed almost a year later, England won and prevented India from gaining the victory of the series.
