Back Nick Lachey. Drew lachey. Jeff Timmons and Justin JeffreThree things of the popular boys band kept 98 degrees together for nearly three long decades – dedicated fans, hard work … and alcohol.
“I think much of his hard work,” Timmons was told, 52, Weekly US On Thursday, May 8, of the band’s longevity. “Of course, the fans, obviously – if they are not there we can’t do any part of these things. But for us, we’ve always been proud of hard work. We come from the Midwest.
“He added that and alcohol,” Drew, 48. “Yes, a lot of boiling, too.”
The Boy Band made its first appearance in 1997 with their debut album, properly named 98 degrees. A year later they released 98 degrees and rises. They went on to sell 15 million records and release the four singles of the top 10 singles.
Nearly 30 years later, the boys are back – they are now controlled by Johnny Wright of Wright Entertainment Group, embarking on a 25th birthday tour and have released a brand new album, Full circleOut on Friday, May 9.
“We felt like, now, we’re in a place where we have this catalog that we want to re -record and have control of our masters again,” explained Drew. “And it took a while to get the music right for the other five original … we wanted to make sure this was the right record to put out and a kind of reflecting where we’ve been and where we are now, and also put a taste (s) to where we are heading in the future.”
The album even features a song that Nick, 51, wrote for an individual project he knew was the group to sing.
“The minute I wrote – this is back in 2007, probably 2008 … I was like, ‘This doesn’t sound like a single record. This sounds like a 98 degree record for me,’” Nick explained. “So all the years later I finally had a chance to play for the men and they liked it too.”
The Love is blind The host continued, “It has our signature type of sound – great harmonies, just that great pop hook. So it was the first single we released from this record.”
