“The view” Sanni Hostin co-chair said that its “concerned” the LGBTQ+ community after seeing the emergence of a new pope.
Cardinal Robert Prevost was chosen as First American pope On Thursday, accepting the name of Pope Leo XIV. It was described as a compromise candidate between the more traditional and progressive factions of the Roman Church, both he spoke in favor of both doctrinal tradition and support for workers and poor. While some liberal commentators praised him, others expressed skepticism as to how many beliefs can actually match.
“I’m a pious Catholic,” Hostin said. “Listen, I always think it’s interesting to watch the conclave and look for white smoke and black smoke, but only the ceremony, and, you know, in these very attempts in our country, we definitely need the spiritual leadership, from some things we are experiencing. I’m a little concerned for this choice for LGBTQ+ community.”
The “view” co -chair expressed the concern of Pope Leo XIV, citing a last statement about the LGBTQ+community.
