Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium had a massive threat on Friday (May 9) in the midst of tensions between India and Pakistan. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) received an email threatening to bomb the stadium.
The tensions between India and Pakistan are being played with each passing day. Both nations have left no stone without having to launch attacks on each other, and in recent days there have also been several attacks of drone and missiles.
In the midst of all this, the Delhi Cricket Association and District received the mail they stated that they have Pakistan’s loyal bedroom cells throughout India, and will activate and explode the Arun Jaitley stadium. The mail read:
Your daily dose of cricket!
“We have Pak’s loyal sleeping cells throughout India. We will activate them for Op Sindoor. We exploded your stadium.”
However, it was learned that the threat of the bomb at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was a deception. But safety has been reduced to the enclosure. The Squad (BDS) and Dog Template bombs, along with Delhi Police teamsHe rushed to the iconic place after the threat and checked him in every corner.
After that, DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma said they were threatened by email and then forwarded to police. He also mentioned that the bombs were there, but nothing was found. Talking to PTI, he said:
“We received a bomb threat by e -mail to DDCA address. We immediately forwarded it to Delhi Police. The Delhi Police Squad came and inspected the whole venue. Nothing was found.”
The Delhi Police Officer also provided an update on it, saying that nothing suspicious was found, but that security has increased at the stadium and in the vicinity. Talking to PTI, he said:
“Nothing suspicious has been found. In addition, we have increased security at the stadium and around.”
In the midst of tensions, the Premier League India (IPL) 2025 was also postponed. The Delhi Arun Jaitley Stadium was one of the main places during the league, as it hosted the matches of the Delhi capitals. The league was suspended for a week and the decision will be made soon.
Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium was ready to host the game between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans on Sunday (May 11). But luckily, the league was postponed and authorities will now have all the time to look at the precinct and ensure the safety of the people there.
